What is Driving?

Driving has reference to the movement of a motor vehicle including motor bike, car, bus, truck etc. But before driving a vehicle you must have a valid driving licence issued by the issuing authority. Steering:- During driving steering plays an important role to control the direction of your vehicle. So better control is required on steering is also must. Proper holding position is required to move the vehicle smoothly.

Accelerator:- Accelerator is used to accelerate the vehicle. You can up and down the speed of your vehicle according to the gear applied during the drive.

Clutch:- Clutch is used to put your vehicle in the gear. Simply, press the clutch and set the position of gear. Initially it is in first gear always. After moving of vehicle you can change or adjust the gear according to the situation on the road.

Brake:- This part of a vehicle is used to stop a vehicle. Put a little pressure on brake, it will slow the speed of your vehicle accordingly. But when you stop your vehicle keep in mind that do not press the brake with a jerk. It will jerk you and vehicle also.

Gear:- Gear is looking like a iron rod with the numbers marked on it in a pattern. The numbers show the gearing position for controlling the speed of a vehicle. First gear is always used to put your vehicle in motion. Only then other gears can be applied. A reverse gear is used to reverse/back the vehicle.

Hand Brake:- Just besides of  a gear hand brake is there and is used only when your vehicle is not in running position i.e. it is stopped and parked. It holds the vehicle to avoid any kind of movement.

Physical Skills
A good driver must have physical skills to be able to control direction, acceleration and deceleration.
Setting the correct transmission to the correct gear.
Good in depressing the accelerator, clutch and break.
Steering the vehicle's direction with the steering wheel. 
Applying the brake pressure to slow or stop the vehicle. 
Speed and Skid control. 
By applying all the above mentioned physical and metal skills one can easily operate a vehicle easily.

Mental Skills
Handling emergency driving situations can involve the following situations.
Observing the road signs and meaning of indicator what it want to guide to you.
Making the quick and good decisions based on the current situation on the road.
Awareness of surroundings, especially in heavy and city traffic.
Understanding the vehicle dynamics left and right hand traffic.
Good vision on the mirrors.     



Precautions while driving
Some important precautions needed when you are driving a vehicle. 
Do not use mobile phones while you drive a vehicle. 
Pay full attention on the road. 
Do not involve yourself in gossips. 
Follow the traffic rules. 
Change your lane carefully when you are in four or six or eight lane road. 
Do not overtake from wrong side. 
Blow horn on the curved road in hill areas. 
Most important precaution that do not overspeed your vehicle, only drive the vehicle on prescribed speed limits.
